Globally Leading instrumentation company seeking management system harmonization with globally practices and certification for compliance to the ISO 9001: 2015 standard
Problem Statement
A 3 billion euros global leader in instrumentation solutions having its corporate Indian office in Mumbai wanted to streamline its processes with the company’s global practices and wanted to implement a quality management with reference to ISO 9001:2015 standard. The organization has a few plants across the country and several logistic and service centres. The total employee strength across India is approximately 2000.
Task
IMPROV was awarded the project to map the processes at the corporate and redesign the processes to meet the requirement of the standard in sync with the company’s global practices. IMPROV was further tasked to develop the management system at the distribution centre which is operated jointly by a third party and the organisation and implement logistic practices along with compliance to the QMS standard.
Solution
The IMPROV team conducted a preliminary assessment of the organization’s management system, conducted extensive rounds of interaction with the Indian and the global corporate team as a part of its diagnostic exercise. This was further followed by a deeper assessment of its current processes few of which were software driven several were at different maturity levels, the task was to bring all the process at equal maturity over a period of 6 months. The IMPROV team identified all the gaps in the prevalent system considering the business model and the basic requirement of the standard, an enterprise risk management methodology was developed at the India location level which was further incorporated in the management system. The ERM was deployed at the operational tactical and strategic level for the Indian site, the same was part of the ISO 9001 quality management system. The corporate procurement process, vendor management practices was also streamlined to include more controls and metrics. The logistic and warehouse locations were incorporated with more stringent HSE practices along with general business processes.
